- Supervises the work of accounting technicians; subordinate work
units may be headed by Lead Accounting Technicians.
- Supervises and directs function in support of accounting
transactions related to contract payments, personal service
payments, and material transactions for goods and services received
for the organization.
- Provides direction and supervision over the receipt, review,
and processing of all types of vendor pay and accounting
- Ensure the proper maintenance of records, reconciliations,
adjustments, and corrective actions.
- Oversee the development and production of special and regular
vendor pay/accounting reports used for analysis, projection,
planning, and researching expenditures.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants
must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the
next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal service, which demonstrates
the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Specialized Experience is defined as processing and auditing of
complex contracts and vendor pay entitlement transactions,
reconciling vendor entitlement system and financial system data,
working with a variety of electronic systems to review and resolve
vendor payment issues; initiating or taking corrective action to
resolve discrepancies, provide technical information to co-workers
and employees on accounting support processing, policies,
procedures, and functions.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a
GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade
requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or
higher grade in Federal Service.
Substitution of Education for Experience: Eighteen months of
graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized
experience required when it is directly related to the work of the
position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully
completed graduate level education and experience may be used to
meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to
substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit

have been obtained in an accredited college or university
