The Senior Trust Officer position is responsible for administering and maintaining a portfolio of fiduciary, institutional, investment agency and IRA relationships. This position will represent Old National Bank as a part of the client relationship management team and is responsible for generating new or additional trust revenue through working with wealth, banking, and external partners. This role will demonstrate an advanced understanding and awareness of all aspects of wealth management services and apply that knowledge to identify and close sales opportunities as well as function as primary fiduciary and administer trust, institutional, agency and IRA accounts ranging up to highly complex and technical matters. Key Accountabilities Relationship Management / Client Service Duties:

  • Serve as the clients' Relationship Manager and fiduciary to administer for a portfolio of existing personal trust, institutional, agency and IRA accounts working with appropriate support teams and internal partners to ensure the execution of day-to-day account administration is happening appropriately
  • Serve as clients' trusted advisor by developing a close, personal relationship with the clients and their families, anticipating clients' wealth planning, private banking, and financial planning needs, and coordinating internal and external advisors to meet those needs
  • As the primary fiduciary contact, resolve client issues and engage in complex fiduciary administration and manages highly complex accounts, particularly those with important and difficult client relationships
  • Act as part of the relationship management team for assigned accounts to identify, understand and develop solutions to meet both current and future needs of the client
  • Collaborate with client, client's advisors, and professionals to articulate and achieve financial goals in the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial plan
  • Meet with clients for the purpose of discussing their needs and the benefits of our services and expand client relationships
  • Provide day to day oversight and administration of assigned wealth book of business as well as monitor account activity and portfolio mix to ensure that established investment guidelines are met
  • Communicate account activities as appropriate with clients, outside professionals and beneficiaries
  • Serve on advisory groups as assigned
  • Achieve annual sales of and annual recurring fee revenue goals
  • Develops and cultivates external centers of influence and obtains referrals from existing client base
  • Acquires additional assets from existing clients and identifies other wealth and banking services as cross-selling opportunities to enhance existing client relationships, utilizing wealth team partners as necessary
  • Solicit and receive introductions from clients, internal business partners, and Centers of Influence
  • Develop new revenue through various means including participating on sales calls and analyzing existing book for additional revenue opportunities.
  • Actively participate and identify opportunities in partnering with internal business partners and wealth team partners to provide appropriate services to deepen client relationships Consistent Internal and External Communication:
    • Demonstrate advanced client contact and relationship management skills
    • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Develop and strengthen relationships with centers of influence, specifically attorneys
    • Provide guidance to other Wealth Team members with knowledge and insight in various fiduciary topics
    • Demonstrate ability to make effective client and prospect presentations Account Administration:
      • Ensure all internal compliance and proper documentation requirements are met, consistent with internal fiduciary and account administration policies and procedures regarding new business and asset acceptances, discretionary actions, and all other bank policies, procedures, and guidelines
      • Coordinate fiduciary and administrative services
      • Retain client base by collaborating with the client and the wealth / banking team to deliver the highest services and client contact standards
      • Maintain knowledge of current trends and changes in the industry with regard to fiduciary matters (e.g., estate planning, probate, estate, gift and income tax planning, guardianships, special needs trusts, state specific laws)
      • Complete annual administrative account reviews
      • Complete all required training Qualifications and Education Requirements
        • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree (e.g., JD or MBA) or professional licenses (e.g., CTFA, CFP, CPA) preferred
        • Years of Experience: Minimum 5 - 7 years of related experience
        • Operate effectively in an environment that stresses both individual accountability and team-based performance
        • Desire a team environment, collaborating with experienced professionals from multiple disciplines to deliver high quality client service
        • Provide professional presence within professional and community organizations
        • Thorough working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with CRM tools and trust accounting system
        • Position may require the need to travel to wealth, client, or other meeting locations
        • Advanced knowledge of fiduciary, agency, IRA, investment management and estate planning strategies
        • Advanced presentation and sales skills
        • Excellent client relations
