Job Description:

Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller is responsible for managing the financial operations of the family-owned organization. This position will oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of financial data. The Financial Controller will ensure that financial processes and controls are in place to provide accurate and timely financial information to the CFO and other senior leaders of the company.What we love about the company:

  Key Responsibilities:
  
  • 
    
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
    
  • Manage the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
    
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide analysis of financial results.
    
  • Develop and maintain annual operating budgets, and provide regular updates to management on budget vs. actual performance.
    
  • Oversee the forecasting process, including cash flow projections, revenue forecasts, and expense projections.
    
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to senior management on financial performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
    
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
    
  • Prepare for and participate in annual audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and timely resolution of audit findings.
    
  • Manage the company's tax compliance, including preparation of tax returns and liaising with external tax advisors.
    
  • Manage the company's insurance program, including identifying and mitigating risks, reviewing insurance policies, and processing claims.
    
    Requirements:
    
    • 
      
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
      
    • At least 7 years of experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a construction or similar industry.
      
    • Proven experience in managing financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
      
    • Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling and analysis.
      
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
      
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
      
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
      
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
