Job Description:
Ultra is currently going through an unprecedented period of
growth and transformation and, as a result of that growth, we have
an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer!Production
Engineers function as centers of expertise in manufacturing systems
and best practices, including line setups, part and material flow,
personnel and machinery optimization, ergonomics, failure mode
analysis, and continuous improvement.Production Engineers work with
the Production Team Leaders to support manufacturing by writing
work instructions, implementing industry best practices (lean
concepts, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, constraint analysis, etc.),
conducting Job Safety and ergonomic analysis, and leading failure
mode analysis activities. Additionally, Production Engineers are
integral in developing line layouts and capacity analysis and are
heavily involved with the development and implementation of
improvements related to production flow, tooling, facilities,
material and common design areas across products, and product
performance. The Production Engineer is also the primary point of
contact for the Design Engineering group in the implementation of
design for manufacturing programs.Duties include:
- Develop and maintain manufacturing flow charts, work
instructions, manufacturing BOM's, routings and MRP related
activities
- Manufacturing methods, tooling and equipment, and Lean
Manufacturing
- Manufacturing mainline floor support, including Failure
Analysis from piece part through system analysis
- Production support for Engineering development and transition
to manufacturing
- Assisting in bids, improving, and developing new products
- Employ strong analytical skills; especially driving to root
cause when completing failure analysis, determining best practice
methodologies for manufacturing, and determining key process
failure modesRequired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent studies and 2+
years of experience (internships, co-ops count)
- Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security
clearances are granted to U.S. citizensDesired Skills:
- Willing to travel
- Strong skills in design analysis and design for
manufacturing
- Must be a team player with good communication skills
- Must have strong computer skills and be especially proficient
in MS Office
- Proficient at dimensional and tolerance analysis from part
level through system level
- Must be willing to travel to various test sites and supplier
locations
- Ideal candidate will have solder experience and be capable of
inspecting for proper solder per IPC standards.
- Ideal candidate will have experience with electronic
components, printed circuit boards and circuit card assembliesWe
