Primary Role: As part of our team, you will improve the utilization
and efficiency of our existing automated production equipment
including a Salvagnini production line, Fanuc robots, EATs,
conveyors, computer systems and programs via software and
mechanical maintenance and optimization. Additionally, you will
review existing, manual processes throughout the Packaged Pools
Operational organization and revise them to require less human
interaction. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in
engineering with a focus on automation, process control, or a
relevant field. You also need superb problem-solving and
communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Observe, investigate, and repair defects and errors in existing
automated technology.
Improve efficiencies in existing automated processes and
equipment.
Reduce cycle time.
Reduce defect rates.
Reduce intervention rates.
Reduce breakdowns.
Coordinate efforts with site Manufacturing Leaders.
Identify new opportunities to increase efficiency via
automation.
Research and design automation technology
Create a connection between information inputs, controllers, and
outputs.
Develop safety standards.
Develop tests and simulations to ensure that they work as
intended.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required ideally in automation, process control,
mechanical or electrical engineering.
CAP or CCST certification preferred.
5 Years of experience preferred.
Strong ability with software testing and validation
Ability to evaluate control systems and automation equipment for
proper operation.
Ability to read automation programing language and program various
control systems (Allen Bradley PLC's, HMIs, and Fanuc Robots)
Superb problem-solving skills.
Superb communication skills.
Comfortable working on production floor.
Physical abilities - lifting, standing, bending, climbing,
operation of equipment/machinery, number of pounds to
lift/push/pull, etc. include length of time for physical activity
when possible (i.e. stand for 4 hours)
Travel likely.
