Reporting to the Director of Application & Training, the Commercial Applications Engineering Leader is part of a dynamic team of applications engineers and account specialists that provide complete pre-sales support for our Commercial Reps. As the Commercial Applications Engineering Leader, the successful candidate must routinely collaborate closely with regional sales managers, commercial reps and consulting engineers to assist in the design of innovative HVAC systems to meet owner requirements in a pre-sales environment.
This position works in close coordination with the commercial sales team in a technical advisory capacity but is often required to provide direct sales support that may include sales presentations to owners or consulting engineers, participation in tradeshow or customer events, performance modeling of units or systems, submittal packages, or competitive analysis of units or systems. In addition, the Commercial Applications Engineering Leader is responsible for establishing a positive work culture while achieving departmental objectives and goals in support of sales growth targets.
The successful candidate should possess the ability to work with product marketing, new product development teams and the commercial strategy team to provide both technical HVAC system and key market insights. This position also supports engineering and customer service with evaluating and processing custom configurations of units for customers.
Skills Required:

  • Manage resources to provide effective pre-sales technical support
  • Maintain a professional and positive work environment for staff and customers that meet company policies and procedures
    • Organize ongoing training of team members
    • Provide a regular report out to commercial sales team on efforts and status of projects being worked on
      • Must have strong working knowledge of MS Office applications including PowerPoint
        • Previous experience in Oracle CPQ and Salesforce is highly desired
        • Ability to regularly communicate and work with WeDoGeo CPQ administrator on process improvements and issue resolution
          • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
          • Must possess strong analytical and strategic skills in dealing with complex systems design as well as business processes Experience Requirements:
            • Five (5) years' experience as an Applications Engineer or pre-sales support within the HVAC industry
              • 4 year degree in engineering, business management or physical sciences
                • Commanding knowledge of advanced principles of air condition, refrigeration circuits, air & water distribution systems and controls
                  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
