Job Description:

The Director of Manufacturing will oversee all areas of the production process to ensure that operational activities are executed to satisfy customer commitments while maximizing efficiencies through continuous improvement management SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overall team member safety.
  • Responsible for product quality and compliance to all QMS requirements throughout the organization.
  • Manage operational deployment in manufacturing processes and techniques, materials and supplies, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, employee relations, support system controls and plant performance measures to ensure that all facility financial and working capital goals are met or exceeded.
  • Drive OPEX through deployment of LEAN principals and tools.
  • Generate Operational input to Annual Operating Plan and generate Capital requirements projections to attain throughput requirements and grow the business to realize strategic goals.
  • Manage production scheduling and execution to attain goals set in AOP.
  • Manage employee relations and development through effective communications, coaching and training.
  • Lead problem solving requirements for the organization to identify problems/opportunities, root cause analysis and problem resolution to facilitate timely, effective and efficient solutions through problem solving tools in the LEAN toolbox.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and production.
  • Determine operations headcount needs and ensure compliance with all company policies and optimize labor spending.
  • Manage compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and maintain cooperative community relations programs.
  • Submit reports and report out results to management and peers as required.
  • Support facility operations staff and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills both up and down throughout the company.
  • Solid analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong team builder and player. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Ten years of related work experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or Manufacturing Engineering
      • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
      • Skilled and experienced in the OPEX process with extensive LEAN tools and abilities. E.g., 5S, Kaizen, Process Walk and Waste Elimination, Poka-Yoke, 6 Sigma, etc.
      • Change agent approach with a desire to drive continuous improvement.
