Schedule: Exempt, Full-time, 40 hours per weekJob SummaryResponsible for all supervisory functions within Plant Operations, Construction projects to include hiring, training, performance evaluations and discipline up to and including discharge. Responsible for developing and implementing all policies and procedures for Plant Operations. Responsible for departmental quality assurance activities and compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies. Participates in improvement performance measures within the hospital, and Plant Operations in specific. Assures protection and privacy of the patient and health information as attained through written, electronic, or oral disclosure. Represents department at leadership and management activities within the hospital.Minimal Acceptable Job QualificationsLicensure/Certifications:Current driver's licenseBCLS within 60 days of hireCPI within 90 days of hireHICS Training: FEMA NIMS certifications including 100, 200, 700 and 800 and within 6 months of employmentHazardous Materials and Decontamination Response Certification within 1 year of hireBeginner and Intermediate Disaster Training Certificate preferredFEMA NIMS 900 (Active Shooter) certification preferredExperience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a hospital Plant Operations department, including 2 years of supervisory/management experience.Education:Associate degree required, Bachelors preferred.Other:Requires knowledge of management theory and practice to effectively lead team members.Requires strong analytical and organizational skills necessary to manage a clinical services operation.Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to interacteffectively with all internal and external unit customers, as needed.Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.Under the immediate direction of the Executive Director of Operations, or other designated leadership, has accountability and responsibility for daily operations for all aspects of facilities, construction management, Environment of Care and Emergency Management. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies impacting engineering/maintenance and security services. Major emphasis of position responsibilities includes the management and maintenance of standards compliance for general safety, life safety and fire prevention, security, biomedical, utilities, hazardous materials and emergency preparedness. Assists Team Leader with decisions concerning facility and security functions and practices, planning, staffing, disciplining, evaluation, problem solving as well as any other leadership tasks as assigned. Provides input regarding budgets for the area of responsibility. Assists with department development, quality assurance, and community events & education as requested.Licensure:Current drivers license;BCLS within 60 days of hireCPI within 90 days of hireHICS Training: FEMA NIMS certifications including 100, 200, 700 and 800 and within 6 months of employmentOSHA -7105 Evacuation & Emergency Planning within 90 days of hireHazardous Materials and Decontamination Response Certification within 1 year of hireBeginner and Intermediate Disaster Training Certificate preferredFEMA NIMS 900 (Active Shooter) certification preferredExperience:Three to five years' experience in engineering and maintenance in a healthcare setting preferred. Prior experience with facility operations is helpful or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Education:Associates Degree Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.Other: Leads safety and emergency preparedness and regulatory compliance planning, training, in-services and activities for the organization.Leader in promoting hospital and departmental policies related to Environment of Care areas.Ensures all safety, fire, disaster plans are current and meet regulations.Ensures that Environment of Care Auditing is completed and documented; including timely response and follow-up; for each-Safety, Life Safety, Security, Biomedical, Utilities, Hazardous Materials and Emergency Preparedness Management.Maintains working knowledge of industry standards and Life Safety Code, NFPA, JCAHO, SBOH, EOC, IDHS, EPA, ADA, OSHA, CDC as related to the safety and security of all facility occupants.Provides on-going educational sessions and assistance for relevant safety issues to all levels of staff as appropriate; seeks ways to promote safety awareness throughout the organization.Assists EOC Committee with planning, developing, implementing and maintaining comprehensive Emergency Management and Safety programs in accordance with all organizational and regulatory agency standards.Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external customers. Actions and behaviors demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and customer service.Ability to develop, implement and present training programs to diverse audiences.Ability and skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, local response agencies and businesses as well as local, State and Federal regulatory agencies.Must be proficient in computer use.Actions demonstrate the ability to accept accountability and execute job responsibilities with poise, competence and enthusiasm.Requires strong organizational skills to maintain department functions: plan the workday, arrange and coordinate PM/PE and routine work requests, complete various reports/projects, track program details, ordering, filing, etc.Demonstrates general working knowledge of office operations, policies and procedures, word processing systems and business communications.Able to identify informational needs of callers and assist as appropriate.Requires mathematical skills to establish quality monitors and measures indicators specific to the Environment of Care components and prepares monthly and annual reports for Safety and Hospital Quality Review committees.Works with team members to maintain a current level of knowledge appropriate to the assigned job responsibilities.Utilizes appropriate resources in performance of job responsibilities.Equal Opportunity Employer
