DescriptionRespiratory Therapist delivers critical and non-critical
patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and
noninvasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. The
Registered RCP provides respiratory care in critical care areas as
needed. The Registered RCP is a resource individual for other
members of the Respiratory Care department, nursing, ancillary
staff, and residents. The Registered RCP provides expert care
utilizing intuitive reasoning skills and experience. The Registered
RCP demonstrates a high level of commitment and
professionalism.Provides basic respiratory therapy techniques as
follows: Aerosol Therapy, Postural Drainage and Percussion,,
Incentive Spirometry, Metered Dose Inhalers and all other treatment
modalities. Perform EKG's.2. Under the indirect supervision of an
LRCP or higher, draws arterial and/or capillary blood samples from
patients, processes the sample, record and report results, and
perform quality controls as required.3. Conducts prescribed
therapeutic procedures to achieve maintenance of patient airway,
including use of nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal airways. Able to
maintain humidification of airways, aspirate secretions, and
document procedures in patient and departmental records.4.
Administers oxygen delivery devices. Sets-up and monitors
non-invasive equipment such as oximeters or end-tidal CO2
analyzers.5*. May be responsible for the cleaning and assembling of
durable equipment6. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Mission

and development over the life span by completing continuing
education program. Interprets information need to identify each
patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific need: a.
Neonate b. Pediatric c. Adolescent d. Adult e. Geriatric11. * Is
responsible for all other duties as assignedMINIMUM
EDUCATION:Required Minimum Education:Specialty/Major: Respiratory
TherapyLICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS ]Required: Completion of
Respiratory Therapy program as approved by the Ohio Respiratory
Care Board. Must hold an active license to practice Respiratory
