Position Overview: A standardized patient is a person who supports
the clinical training of health professionals by following a
provided script to simulate real-life scenarios for health
profession students. The standardized patient should be able to
accurately and consistently recreate the scenario with appropriate
personality and emotion to enable health profession students to
prepare for practice. The major responsibility of this position is
to portray all the characteristics of a real patient, simulating
the signs and symptoms. Standardized patients will often be
physically examined by students and faculty as part of the athletic
training students learning experience.

General information: Manchester University is an independent,

Work schedule: This is a non-exempt, part-time position with an
average expectation of approximately 10 hours per semester Monday
through Friday. The majority of the interactions will occur on
Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between the hours of 9
am-4 pm with time scheduled for lunch unless otherwise noted. There
is an opportunity to select serving as a campus, virtual, and
hybrid standardized patient depending on interest.
