Job Description Echocardiographer This position is eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus. Summary - Under the direction of the Director operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment and produces cardiac images according to policy/protocol. - Examinations performed include adult echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and pediatric echocardiograms. - Responsible for assuring a high level of quality in all exams and providing the interpreting physician with all the necessary information in order to make an accurate diagnosis. - Collaborates with other departments to provide procedures in a timely and efficient manner for all involved. Education - Associates of Science degree in health care field and successful completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program - Successful completion of a two year Echocardiogram training program; - Eligible for on-site training by obtaining an Associates of Science in a health care field or Bachelors degree in a health care related field with two years of cardiac related health care experience. Licensure/Certification - Must have current CPR certification. - A valid license in Cardiac Ultrasound from the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI - Registry eligible and obtain valid certification within 12 months of hire. Experience - Previous experience in a similar role preferred. Other Qualifications - Ability and knowledge of imaging the various anatomical structures and differentiating artifacts. - Must be able to lift 75 lbs., 150 lbs. shared lifting. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. - Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. - Must share responsibility to cover call, weekends and holidays.
