Pay Information $2,831 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in stepdown or progressive care unit License: Active RN license in any state Certifications: BLS, NIH, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment - Competent to run IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and insulin - Experience with targeted patient ratios of 1:5-6 Description: This position requires experience in stepdown or progressive care units. Candidates must demonstrate a 1:5 ratio experience in their work history. ICU experience will not be considered for this role. Typical patients include those with heart failure, chest pain, NSTEMI, and COPD exacerbation. Nurses must be proficient in reading and interpreting EKG strips. IV start experience is essential for managing drips and patient care. Travelers may be required to float to different specialty clusters as needed. All staff must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. This role does not allow for requests for time off after application submission. Trainers will provide support in skills such as interpretation of dysrhythmias and initiating IVs. Nurses will work with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for patients. The average daily census in the unit is 31 patients. Navy blue scrubs will be required for the uniform. No more than 14 days of requested time off are permitted during the contract period. EKG/Dysrhythmia exams must be completed within a specified timeframe after signing a contract.
