week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:
Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours
per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in Step Down or
Progressive Care Unit License: Active Registered Nurse License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Ventilator experience - Epic
experience - Ability to read and interpret EKG strips - Experience
with a patient ratio of 1:5 Description: This role is for a
Registered Nurse specializing in Step Down nursing. The nurse will
work in a team nursing model, collaborating with another nurse and
a patient care technician to provide care for a group of patients.
Targeted patient ratios are 1:4 but may range up to 1:5-6. The
patient population primarily includes individuals with COPD, CHF,
pneumonia, sepsis, and post-COVID conditions. Responsibilities
include managing ventilated patients and administering cardiac
drips, insulin drips, and other medications. Nurses will also
provide support in telemetry, care of tracheostomy patients, and
management of complex patient needs. The unit values teamwork and
aims to improve both workload and patient care through
collaborative efforts. Participation in floating to various units
and working every other weekend and holiday is required. There may
be opportunities for professional development and engagement with
