is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care
RN in Fishers, Indiana, 46037! Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 3 years minimum
preferred License: Must be in hand prior to start date, temporary
licenses may be obtainable Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: Must be able to take higher ratios. Strong PCU RN
experience preferred. Ability to float required. Description: ICU
unit with floating to PCU. Nurse will be required to manage a
higher patient ratio. Responsibilities include interpretation and
management of dysrhythmias. Nurse will obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG.
Thermoregulation for hypothermia and hyperthermia will be needed.
Involvement in post-cardiac surgery protocols and pre/post-cardiac
catheterization interventions. Sheath removal protocols will be
required. Nurse must manage IV insulin protocols and care for
chronic/acute renal failure patients. Accessing and managing ports
is a responsibility. Arterial line management is essential. Blood
product administration and central line care will be part of the
duties. PICC line management and starting and maintaining IVs is
expected. Nurse must administer continuous IV paralytics and
sedation. Knowledge of emergency medications and procedural
sedation administration is necessary. Titration of cardiac and
vasoactive drips will be part of the role. CVA and acute stroke
management is included. Knowledge of hypothermia protocols and
assisting with BiPAP and CPAP management is required. The nurse
will assist with chest tube insertion and removal. Care of
ventilated patients will be a primary responsibility. High flow
nasal cannula (HFNC) administration knowledge is necessary.
Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) is expected.
Suctioning (ETT, NT) will be performed as required. Ventilator
management is part of the role. Infection prevention and isolation
precautions will be practiced. Phlebotomy skills are required. Care
of surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs will be necessary.
Daily census averages around 7 patients. Unit includes
interdisciplinary support from various services. Patients will
largely be adults with conditions such as ARDS, COPD, STEMI,
NSTEMI, DKA, AKI's, UTIs, and acute shock. Nurse will be involved
in special procedures such as cath labs and cardioversion.
Electronic charting will be used, experience preferred. 5 Benefits
