Job Description:
The Team Leader is a hands-on leader that is responsible for
coordinating work activities within the logistics group and
actively participates in the day to day assignments of the
department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include
but are not limited to:
- Leads, trains, assigns, and monitors work of group
members.
- Follows the company policies and generally accepted procedures
for picking, packing and shipping domestic and international
shipments.
- Responsible for accurate shipment counts and items. Ensures
packages arrive to the end user in a safe usable condition.
- Prepare shipping documents, which may include bills of lading,
international commercial invoices, NAFTA, and SED documents.
- Ensure that inventory movement and storage locations for
finished goods are accurately recorded and kept in a safe and
organized manner. Report inventory shortages and overages to
supervisor.
- Ability to back fill for different areas of logistic when
needed.
- Adheres to all safety rules and report questionable conditions
to department supervisor.
- Apply and recommend Lean practices.Critical Competencies:
- Ability to objectively coach associates and assist through
complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems
or issues that is in consistent with standards, practices,
policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
- The ability to research and analyze various different type of
data information.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and
confidential situations.
- Knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications,
especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to maintain a level of confidentiality.
- Ability to organize, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to accept direction and manage time.
- Knowledge of the safety and handling procedures of goods.
- Knowledge of shipping and material control procedures.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment listed - forklift,
pallet jack.
- Ability and willingness to train others.Education and
Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- 2 plus years of experience in a hands-on, fast pace
manufacturing environment.Physical Demands and Work Environment:
