Volunteers are an important part of the mission at Lutheran Life Villages. Our volunteer coordinator ensures we are unlocking each person's potential impact each time they volunteer at our communities. You'll also have the opportunity to get to know our residents and staff, share a few laughs, and develop lasting personal relationships. Plus, you'll be enriching every life you touch as well as your own.Schedule is 8:30 - 4:00 pm.   • Recruits and orients volunteers, reviews volunteers' skills and interests to organization's needs.
  • Maintains volunteer files and record volunteer hours in the current electronic system
  • Assigns roles to volunteers and provides any necessary in-service training
  • Communicates with key staff regarding current and new volunteer services within their departments and provide education on the usage and supervision of volunteers
  • Works with the Director of Philanthropy to cultivate congregational involvement in the mission of Lutheran Life Villages through providing congregation members an opportunity to fulfill their faith through service at Lutheran Life Villages
  • Supervises the Emporium gift shop at the Village at Anthony Boulevard.
  • Compiles articles, items, and general information for appropriate newsletters monthly.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of special events
    • Plans, organizes and conducts the annual volunteer recognition day for Lutheran Life Villages communities in Fort Wayne
    • Regularly occurring LLV and community events
    • Markets volunteer needs to appropriate schools, service clubs, religious organizations, and others
    • Assists with scheduling and coordinating tours of the facility for interested volunteers
    • Maintain confidentiality of employee, donor, prospect, vendor/supplier, and other corporate records
    • Supports the Director of Philanthropy and sales team as required beyond just volunteer engagement.Job QualificationsEducation/Training
      • A Bachelor's Degree in the field of Human Services, Recreation, or Marketing is preferredExperience
        • Minimum of two years' experience in a volunteer administration or a supervisory role in a related field
        • Demonstrated strong verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
        • Fundraising CRM experience required
        • Event Management experience a plus
        • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work
        • Demonstrated strong computer skills in multiple programs
        • Self-Motivator
