General Description of Position:
Provide protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, employees and visitors.


Major Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Provide a visual security presence in the hallways of the Coliseum Campus, North Campus, Aviation, Autobody and Parkview Education Center (PEC) buildings.
  
• Provide a visual security presence in the parking lots of the Coliseum, North Campus, Aviation and Autobody campuses on foot and via City Patrol car.
  
• Circulate among students, employees and visitors to preserve order and protect property.
  
• Accompany students, employees and visitors to their cars if requested.
  
• Respond to all safety, security and fire alarms.
  
• Investigate reports of illegal activity on campus.
  
• Investigate any accidents and respond to any emergency.
  
• Write detailed incident reports on all incidents that occur.
  
• Responsible for delivery of deposit to bank.
  
• Secure the campus buildings entrances and exits at the end of operating hours.

  Minimum Qualifications:
  
  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the public.
  Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures.
  Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, including wearing the appropriate uniform.
  Must be a commissioned police officer in the state of Indiana.

  Other Requirements:
  
  Work is performed inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations.
  
  
  
  Work Hours:
  
  Part-time hours, primarily 8am-4pm on Wednesday and 1pm-4pm Thursday and Friday with flexibility throughout the week. Additional hours available as needed.
