POSITION SUMMARY: The Coatings Engineer will be responsible for the entire operations of the Electrocoat Paint Line and Powder Coat Line, including monitoring its quality and handling of its waste. They will also be responsible for and ensure proper safety and efficient production. The Coatings Engineer must comply with federal and state regulations and company policies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain compliance with all quality and environmental standards and policies. Ensure that all processes and documentation to prevent defective products and meet customer specifications are followed.
• Responsible for identifying and preventing defective materials, parts and maintenance items.
• Responsible for Paint/Waste Water Technicians on all shifts.
• Conduct cost savings analysis Maintain racks by conducting PM's, modifications and improvements. Maintain chemical inventories for pretreatment and waste water.
• Maintain inventories for all required materials.
• Work with plant management to ensure that all procedures and work instructions are being followed in the paint process.
• Maintain compliance with all OSHA requirements. Treats all other team members with respect and dignity.
• Performs other essential functions as assigned. JOB QUALIFACTIONS REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3-5 years previous lab experience Good reading and math skills Excellent attendance.
  • Operation of a forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Hazardous Communication First Responder Certification.
  • Ability to multi-task.
