Sign-On Bonus: n/a Description: Camp Red Cedar boasts 57 acres of woods, meadows, trails, a 10-acre lake and sandy beach. Each year the camp serves hundreds of children and adults through inclusive summer camps, recreational therapy and riding programs, and community events. Join us on the next summer adventure at Camp Red Cedar! Seeking an individual to plan, coordinate, and teach recreational activities to all campers as a Season Activities Coordinator. Seasonal Full-time Schedule: May 20th - August 16th, weekdays Pay: $400/week SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, facilitate, and supervise campers with outdoor and indoor recreational activities.
  • Create weekly name tags and camp groups in accordance with weekly schedule with Field Supervisor.
  • Plan and provide example craft for each week.
  • Manage the staff/camper photos.
  • Monitor scheduled activities and staff participation. Implement and demonstrate structure when needed and make sure staff are actively engaging with campers to facilitate a safe and fun camping experience.
  • Plan or implement activities and games that are appropriate for the age and ability of the individuals attending camp.
  • Monitor activities during summer camp programming and plan for rainy day / daily adaptations for unplanned events or situations.
  • Act as main point-of-contact for all behavioral incidents according to MANDT Intermediate Training and report any behavior incidents to your supervisor through written and verbal communication.
  • Attend all training sessions and facility improvement days.
  • Lead opening and closing circle for camp.
  • Plan and facilitate evening activities for Quest Overnight and Discovery After Care.
  • Stay on-site during overnight camps.
  • Facilitate water front activities.
  • Keep camp areas organized, supervise areas that need to be re-organized and delegate to others as necessary. Ex: arts and crafts area, kitchen, lodge, field game storage (gator pen), computer lab, sensory room etc.
  • Assist with Medication administration and brief changes as needed.
  • Assist in preparing weekly required paperwork.
  • Provide daily water/snacks for campers.
  • Monitor lunch time/set-up/ clean-up.
  • Assist with Client Specific training.
  • Maintain inventory for paper goods, snacks, and first aid areas.
  • Maintain monthly checks safety walk-thru and safety drills.
  • Follow all safety policies adopted by this agency
  • Assist with planning and facilitating Showdeo nights. OTHER DUTIES:
    • Be familiar with all emergency procedures and participate in monthly drills.
    • Comply with all safety standards and policies adopted by this agency to assure the health and safety of all staff and clients we serve.
    • Report any behavior incidents to your supervisor through written and verbal communication.
    • Be a good example for all campers.
    • Good attendance while employed with Camp Red Cedar.
    • Report any reasonable suspicion of a crime against an ICF/MR resident must be reported to Indiana State Department of Health and Law Enforcement (Elder Justice Act). QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Must be able to relate well and work with people with disabilities
      • Must have a desire to work with people with disabilities.
      • Must be dependable, flexible and responsible.
      • Must have good communication skills
      • At least 18 years of age
      • High School diploma or GED
