Hospital Registered Veterinary Technician Conley & Koontz Equine Hospital is a 24/7 emergency clinic. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. However, support staff is on a rotating on call basis for emergency surgeries. This job involves working with horses of all ages and breeds. A minimum of two years of horse experience (other than working with your own horses) is required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -medical treatments on in hospital patients -make sure horses are fed and watered -clean stalls (occasionally) -treatment sheets; make new when needed and enter into medical records -laboratory : over see that lab work is getting completed send out labs to outhouse laboratories lab equipment maintenance order lab supplies -clean instruments, wrap packs, and run autoclave -various equipment maintenances/problems - Vaccination reminders -Assist in surgery, whether it be anesthesia or scrub tech -Assist with in hospital patients as needed This job is physically demanding and requires candidates that are able to frequently lift over 50 to 75 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Teamwork, time management skills, and a positive attitude are a must! This is a great work environment with plenty of hands on experience.
