Summary

Utilizes the Intellidesk (ID) call processing application to process internal and external phone calls for all Parkview Hospitals and PPG offices. Subject matter expert (SME) on the Intellidesk application; referencing up to thirty (30) directories for multiple hospital and specialty groups; processing internal and external on-call requests for disparate departments; using mass communication applications to include Alertus (AL), Everbridge (EB), overhead (OH) paging devices, pagers, cellular and mobility phones. Processes calls for service for Public Safety into Perspective/Spillman (CAD). Processes all internal and emergency (1-911) calls through ID. Communicates with local law enforcement agencies when outgoing 911 calls are alerted in the Sentry Beacon (SB) application. Utilizes the ProWatch (PW) application to monitor and process alarms on the following: fire, ChemPak, gas, temperature, infant protection, panic, intrusion, and access control. Utilizes the ProWatch (PW) access control suite to manage coworker and visitor access to restricted areas. Monitors and reviews closed circuit video systems via DS ControlPoint (DS) and MaxPro (MP). Processes frequently accessed departmental forms through Microsoft PowerApps (PA), such as RHC process documentation, fire drill documentation, and Parkview trespass order information. Utilizes a multi-channel radio consolette to communicate with officers on UHF and 800Mhz radio systems. Manages between 150-200 calls for service daily for up to 20 officers at a time across 11 counties in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio, including identifying the appropriate officer for response dependent on the severity and location of the incident, ranging from routine perimeter to checks to violent crimes in progress. Is responsible to maintain constant contact with all officers to ensure safety and the documentation of law enforcement activity for potential criminal cases. Requests and manages criminal history information from law enforcement agency partners, ensuring the confidentiality of this information and its appropriate dissemination. Improper dissemination of criminal history information outside the scope of FBI requirements could mean criminal action against the dispatcher, and civil liability against Parkview Health. Conducts basic troubleshooting steps for equipment outages and escalates to the appropriate entity (supervisor, Facilities Management, Information Services, application vendor) if necessary. Communicates clearly and effectively under all conditions regarding customers' needs in a concise and professional manner. Manages multiple tasks at once with detailed attention to urgency, standard procedures, and local and national laws and statutes.

Education

High School Diploma or GED is required. An AA/AS degree in a related field is preferred.

Licensure/Certification

Must be eligible for CJIS certification, including completion of fingerprinting and criminal background check with no felony convictions. Must recertify every 2 years.

Experience

No experience is required; however, police/fire dispatch experience or experience in a public 911 call center is highly desired.

Other Qualifications

Geographical knowledge of the Parkview service area is preferred.

Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Hearing: The candidate shall have normal hearing acuity. A baseline audiometric test will be obtained at the time of the successful candidate's post offer physical and yearly thereafter.

Vision: the candidate shall possess normal color vision and visual functions, including near vision. Each eye must be free of any abnormal condition or disease, which might adversely affect performance of duty and there must be visual acuity in each eye corrected to no less than 20/30. Vision and hearing are required to perform essential job functions.
