Job Title: Heat Treat Batch Screw Loader
Job Status: Hourly
Job Locations: Pioneer, OH
Basic Job Functions:
Altenloh, Brinck & Co. US, Inc. manufactures and distributes engineered fasteners under the SPAX-- brand for the construction market, TRUFAST-- for the commercial roofing industry and TRUFAST Walls-- for exterior building envelopes and facades. The Heat Treat Batch Screw Loader - Tender will be responsible for running assigned production, troubleshoot screw loader, perform general maintenance, and complete part changeovers.

Essential Responsibilities:
Tender Responsibilities

Run assigned production: Perform screw loading role when machine is in regular production, perform loading and unloading role when necessary. Keep loads on the floor when running the loaders manually, keep automated screw loader full of screws when in operation - so that the furnace can be utilized 100% all the time.
Use teamwork for efficient and continual production: Work as a team when loading and unloading of product.
Complete Daily Shift Requirements: Complete tasks assigned per Daily Shift Requirement work instruction for proper daily maintenance and machine upkeep.
Complete required logs: Fill out required documentation to share any pertinent information that future shifts need to know for better future operations.
Complete needed material handling for self and others: In the absences of, and in addition to, the material handler each operator is responsible for obtaining, staging, loading, and moving all needed tubs for a continuous operation.

Part Changeover and Troubleshooting Responsibilities

Perform screw loader diagnostics to troubleshoot stoppage for immediate repair: When screw loader machine stops operating find root cause, repair, and return it back to operating condition.
Perform general maintenance to working areas to ensure machine uptime: Tighten, repair, or replace machine components when found to be out of tolerance. Refer to manuals for startup/shut down when necessary. This can be done by observing malfunctions and reviewing machine during downtimes and cleaning periods.
Report maintenance issues found: Notify leads, managers, or maintenance immediately of malfunctions found that need to be repaired beyond the screw loader/tenders comfort level.
Perform part changeovers as needed: Load the part/Job number per the daily schedule.
Ensure 1st Piece Approvals are completed: Complete portion of checks required and ensure quality completion of the 1st piece prior to continual operations and resuming screw loader/tender responsibilities.
Annual shut down over Christmas and New Year's: Must be willing to work the annual shut down during Christmas and New Year's.

Screw Loader/Tender Setup Responsibilities

Troubleshoot screw loader problems: Work with manager, lead, or shift personnel to solve problems beyond their certified skill level to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Identify upcoming part changes and coordinate changeovers based on resources available: Review production schedule with area lead and managers to pre-plan changeovers to minimize total downtime and maintain an efficient and continual production most effectively.



No previous experience required


High school diploma or GED required

Required Skills/Competencies:

Positive attitude, communication, and ability to promote teamwork
Ability to read blueprints and gaging instruments (calipers/micrometers)
Competent in basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide simple geometry)
Ability to anticipate actions needed and quickly adapt to change
Shows basic mechanical aptitude
General computer skills
Good work history and extremely good attendance - dependable
Ability to attain a license and operate a forklift
Cleanliness and detail oriented
Must be willing to work other positions as needed
Ability to work in warmer/humid temperature areas.

Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, and to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, or lift 50 pounds. Must be agile and have good hand-eye coordination
