AkronCanton Foodbank - Service Area Analyst

The mission of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is to lead a collaborative network that empowers people to experience healthy and hunger-free lives. We distribute food to feed people and we advocate, engage, and convene our community in the fight to end hunger. The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank provides food and other essential items to network partners in eight Northeast Ohio counties: Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, and Wayne. These network partners operate 600 food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters, and other hunger-relief programs in the neighborhoods and communities where people need food. The Foodbank envisions a thriving community free of hunger.

Member Duties : As our VISTA member, you will play a crucial role in developing a plan to best understand and meet the needs of the Foodbank's service area. By creating and implementing a service area assessment tool, you will inform our operational response plan, allowing us to better meet the needs of our neighbors. You will research how other foodbanks in the Feeding America Network are conducting assessments and strategize with our team the key topics to include in our own assessment. You will then implement the assessment tool by engaging our hunger-relief network and neighbors. Compiling feedback collected from conversations with our network and neighbors, you will analyze and report on the assessment's findings. Ultimately, you will play an important role in the making of an operational response plan.
